Whoa! Dang. I'm curious though it's none of my business... why does it cost population? Are 2000 of their people going to die in the salvage effort? Or is it just the labor cost making lots of workers unavailable for other work or recruitment, and they get the population back once the salvaging is done?

I suspect it's meant to temporarily set aside population, but that seems an important thing to get clarified first. Unless the admin is just giving them a way to burn off extra population, but then it begs the question you asked, Skjaeren.

Population represents open and untied labor. When you "Spend" population you're usually tying said labor and making it unavailable to general pool. In this case, you spend population and those workers and artisans are devoted to salvaging or excavating the golem and not generally available.

That's what I'd gathered, but the question is, when they finish working on the golem, does the population 'spent' go back into the pool again?

It's probably made as an abstract. I mean having food gives you population. And that population can fight. Unless our guys grow up in 3 months (1 turn) it doesn't make any sense.

Maybe the turn change is waiting for the results of the battle in progress?

I still haven't gotten the results of my exploration this turn. Hoping the turn won't change without that.

Don't worry folks! Turn change will not hit until the battle is over and all exploration will not be done until the turn change is properly planned out! This is our tool for making sure everything runs smoothly and time doesn't get stretched in some places.

I really need to stop asking questions AFTER I do a thing.

So, if I go to explore an area on my turn, is there a range limit on that? For example I picked a spot nearby-ish to where I was, could I have gone even further away if I'd wanted to? How far does that 5 gold get me?

I asked about this, if i understood correctly exploring a hex checks that hex and the surrounding ones. (They roll if you find something.)
Also 1 pop= 2 units worth of dudes, so you can save a pop point.

Yeah, I got that, but in my example my guys only ventured a few hexes from my main area. I'm wondering how many hexes away I could have them explore. For instance could I have sent them straight down to the mountain range? Or all the way to the east coast to the Ku-Wahi'Kahu?

There's no limit on exploration usually, since "traveling through" doesn't mean exploring. Exploration is specifically stopping to survey the area in depth.

The only real limit on surveying is your ability to reach the area. If it's in someone else's territory or cut off by something impassable, that would be impossible to survey.

Just so everyone knows, I talked w/ Talis and we found a simple solution to resolving rolls.

From now on message ME with any Exploration or Hero Recruitment actions. I'm in charge of that sort of thing now.

It would greatly increase the speed of your reply if you put the Turn that the action is taking place, and if you are feeling especially constructive, a snip of the map with the location in question you are exploring.

For example if you explore this turn, please put Turn 5 at the top, which resolves next week, July 4th. If you need an exploration roll, put it down as Turn 4, and I will PM you as soon as i see it.)

(It isn't likely to come up, but I will also be acting under the assumption that if you PM me for it, you are "locked in" to take that turn action.)

Looks like i got everyone's resources resolved! woots.

Also post-blitz.

Also Im borrowing back my diplomats Fel, you can still talk to them but I'm running of of character names, and you wern't doing anything w/ them. Just ignore any time-space warping of the lv 0 commoner NPC's.

Or blame Tikal, that seems to be a common solution that everyone can seem to agree with, as well. Razz

Hey Dlord, you might want to edit your diplo to me.

Artas isn't in New Arsun right now, she's down in Forgehall.
